Till and PIN-pad walkthrough
A focused hour at the counter: reach to the PIN pad, tap target, cable clutter, and the printer that holds the next shopper in place.
Who it is for
Stores where the app is fine but the physical terminal still causes a shuffle, a dropped card, or a cashier who turns the pad around twice.
What you leave with
A one-page placement sketch and a short list of reach and height changes the facilities team can make without closing the till.
Scope
One checkout island or a pair of side-by-side tills in the same store.
Included
- Reach measurements from typical cashier and shopper standing points
- Notes on glare, cable slack, and whether the tap logo faces the queue
- A conversation with the cashier who works that till most often
Not included
- Electrical work or moving power sockets
- In-app cart review
How the visit runs
- Arrive after the morning fill so the counter is dressed as shoppers see it.
- Stand through a short run of live tenders.
- Leave a marked print of the counter with suggested PIN-pad and printer positions.
Preparation
Keep the till open. No need to clear stock from the counter if that is how you trade.
Limits we keep
We will not unplug a live terminal during a queue.
Next step
Send a photo of the counter taken from the shopper’s side of the line. Write to info@terminal-maphub.digital or use the request form.
